A water main ruptured in South Los Angeles Sunday and another one in Orange.
Two water mains ruptured in Southern California Sunday.
Authorities said more than 100,000 gallons of water gushed out of a broken water main in Orange.
The flooding near the 1800 block of North Sacramento Street was reported at 12:45 a.m., a dispatcher at the Orange Fire Department said. The water was shut off, but not before about 100,000 gallons flooded the area, authorities told a camera crew at the scene.
The second rupture, which involved a six-inch water main, happened shortly before 4 a.m. in South Los Angeles.
The water main broke in the area of 71st Street and Harvard Boulevard, DWP spokesperson Maychelle Yee said.
According to the Department of Water and Power, no one's water service was interrupted.
A crew was working to repair the damage, Yee said. The cause of the break was not immediately known.
