Teen Allegedly Assaulted Woman While She Slept

TEMECULA, Calif. A teenage boy was in custody for the alleged sexually assaulting a woman as she slept, a Temecula police sergeant said Monday.

The attack happened about 4 a.m. Sunday, according to police Sgt. Michael Driever. The woman's husband awoke and chased away the attacker, the sergeant said.

The suspect apparently left behind a vehicle and police were able to identify the boy as the attacker, Driever said.

The boy was located around mid-day and booked into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of sexual assault and burglary, Driever said.

His name was not released because of his age, the sergeant said.
