Third Storm Bears Down On The Southland

More Rain Expected Later In The Week

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― The latest Pacific storm to hit Southern California is expected to move out Monday night, leaving clear skies and chilly temperatures in its wake.

Rainfall totals from Monday's storm ranged from a quarter of an inch to a half-inch. Snow levels dropped to less than 2,500 feet in most mountain areas.

Forecasters say wind gusts, blowing snow and poor visibility are expected Monday night in mountain passes and canyons. Frazier Park northwest of Los Angeles has gotten 4.5 inches of snow.

Winds were clocked at 35 mph today at the Los Angeles International Airport. Forecasters say downtown had nearly 2 inches of rain since Thursday, raising its seasonal total to 6.91 inches.

More rain is expected later in the week.
