A shooting suspect was arrested Monday night in the northbound Sepulveda Boulevard tunnel under Los Angeles International Airport following a chase that began on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway.
Sheriff's deputies from the Lennox Station began the chase about 7:55 p.m. No details of how the chase began were immediately available.
The chase ended inside the northbound tunnel with a "felony takedown," said Nancy Castles, public relations director of Los Angeles World Airports, the city agency which operates the airport.
The investigation following the arrest forced closure of the tunnel, Castles said.
Airport officials advised the public heading to the airport who would use the tunnel to use Aviation Boulevard instead, while those using the westbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway should exit the San Diego (405) Freeway at Century Boulevard, Castles said.
