1 Wounded In Shooting Near Long Beach School

The shooting took place across the street from Starr King Elementary school, which has since been locked-down.

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) ― Long Beach police say one person has been injured in a shooting across the street from an elementary school.

As a precaution, Starr King Elementary school has been locked down.

Police Officer Jackie Bezart says an 18-year-old was taken to the hospital but his injuries were not life-threatening.

She says police believe the shooting is gang-related but she didn't have any further details.
