Man Shot To Death In Street In East L.A.

EAST LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― A 30-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday morning in East Los Angeles, sheriff's deputies said.

Deputies responding to a call about 4:45 a.m. found Alfred Rangel's body in the middle of the street near the corner of Michigan and McDonnell avenues, not far from the Long Beach (710) and Pomona (60) freeway interchange, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Aura Sierra.

Rangel had been shot multiple times in the chest, Sierra said.

No other information was immediately available.

Sheriff's deputies asked anyone with information to call (323) 890-5500.
