Boy, 13, In Custody For Allegedly Killing Teen

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― A 13-year-old boy was in custody on Friday for allegedly killing an 18-year-old man as he stood in the driveway of his home in South Los Angeles, police said.

Ricardo Rivera Jr. was shot about 9:15 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of East 80th Street and died at the scene, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

According to police, the suspect approached Rivera on foot and shot him, then ran away. Detectives arrested the teen and booked him at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall. A motive for the crime was not immediately known.
