Authorities have found two handguns near the badly decomposed bodies of five family members who were discovered in a home in a wealthy, gated Orange County community over the holiday weekend.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Lt. Erin Giudice says the handguns were found near the bodies of a man and woman in their 40s and were registered to the middle-aged woman. Giudice says the man and woman were found in a downstairs closet, while a woman in her 70s and two sisters in their early 20s were found in an attached bedroom.
Sheriff's officials are now saying that the man suffered from an apparent gunshot wound.
But Giudice says the bodies are so badly decomposed it's impossible to tell if the others were shot, too.
Autopsies began Monday but won't be done until Tuesday because of the decomposition.
