Rose Parade Overnight Camping Do's and Do Not's
Ring In The New Year By Sleeping On The Sidewalk And Being Awoken At 6 AM By A Marching Band!
PASADENA, Calif. (CBS) ―
Thousands of people are getting ready to descend upon Colorado Blvd. to camp overnight before the Rose Parade on January 1 and the Pasadena Police and Fire Departments Friday issued a list of do's and don'ts.
Overnight camping is permitted only on Monday, although permanent spots on sidewalks can be claimed starting at noon Monday.
Small barbecues at least one foot off the ground are allowed, and minors on the parade route between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. must be supervised by an adult.
Authorities also urged spectators to wear warm clothes and drink plenty of liquids, and in case of emergency call 911 or (626) 744-4241.
Tents, sofas or boxes that can be used as stools are prohibited, as are unoccupied chairs, bonfires and fireworks.
Items may not be sold along the parade route without a permit, and ladders or scaffolding may not be used as elevation for viewing.
It's illegal to buy, sell or give away horns on the parade route, and selling space is prohibited, as is throwing anything at the parade.
