Arcadia Family Tied Up, Robbed At Home
ARCADIA, Calif. (CBS) ―
Arcadia Police are searching for three suspects who tied up a family and ransacked their home Sunday morning.
The robbery happened about 7:20 a.m. in the 100 block of West Forest Avenue, near Foothill Boulevard, said Sgt. Dean Caputo of the Arcadia Police Department.
"(The suspects) confronted a male resident in his driveway, forcing him into his home at gunpoint," Caputo said. "Once inside, they bound his hands and feet. One suspect then confronted the victim's wife and 9-year-old son at gunpoint and also bound them."
Authorities said that the father was choked until he gave the suspects money.
The suspects with cash and jewelry, Caputo said.
The victims waited a couple hours before contacting police because the suspects threatened to come back and harm or kill them said Caputo.
A detailed description of the suspects was not available.
Sunday's robbery is the second in the city in the past week.
On Wednesday, a couple was attacked on the 300 block of West Duarte Road.
In this robbery, two teenage suspects confronted a man removing groceries from his car and punched him in the face while they took his wallet authorities said.
They later pushed the man's wife to the ground when she came out to investigate.
The suspects then taped the woman's mouth and tried to put zip ties around both of their wrists before leaving the scene.
Police did not say whether the two robberies may be related.
