The Los Angeles City Council has voted to approve a $75,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of individuals who drenched a homeless man in gasoline and set him ablaze, killing him.
Councilman Tom LaBonge's spokeswoman Carolyn Ramsay says the council approved the vote unanimously on Friday. The vote has been sent to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa for final approval.
Police say 55-year-old John Robert McGraham died when he was set on fire the night of Oct. 9.
Police Deputy Chief Charlie Beck says witnesses claim two men jumped out of a car and doused McGraham. He says the men allegedly filled a can with fuel from an area gas station.
