Pilot Survives Emergency Landing In Ramona
RAMONA, Calif. (AP) ―
A small plane that reported engine trouble after taking off from the Ramona Airport in the San Diego area made an emergency landing in a field.
The plane was missing for two hours tonight and authorities had feared the worst.
San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Hope Andrews says the pilot's wife called to say he survived.
Andrews says the man walked out of the field, called his wife told her he was fine and got a ride home.
The airport's control tower heard a distress signal after the plane took off, and another aircraft in the area heard the pilot report engine trouble.
