Authorities are searching for a man who allegedly impersonated a law enforcement officer in Palmdale and groped a female motorist he had pulled over.
The woman was driving southbound on Sierra Highway near Avenue S around 10:45 p.m. Saturday when she saw a flashing blue light in her rear-view mirror according to officials at the sheriff's Palmdale station.
The victim said the suspect was dressed in a dark uniform with a badge and said he stopped her because she was swerving on the road.
He asked her for identification and told her to get out of her vehicle, then had her walk a straight line as if he were giving her a field sobriety test, she said.
The victim said he told her to put her hands on the trunk of her car, where he then began to grope her over and under her clothing.
The victim said she fought with the man and was able to break free, run back to her car and drive away.
Authorities are looking for a man in his 30s, about 5 feet 10 inches and 185 pounds who was driving a dark colored Ford, possibly a Crown Victoria, with spotlights and a forward flashing blue light.
The woman was examined at a hospital and released.
