Police Monday responded to an officer-involved shooting in Hawthorne and a suspect has barricaded himself inside a nearby 99 Cent Only store, according to the Hawthorne Police Department's watch commander.
The incident happened at 135th and Crenshaw some time after 12 p.m. and authorities shut down 135th in all directions.
Authorities do not believe there are any patrons inside the 99 Cent Only store.
According to police scanner reports, other suspects may have fled from the location, heading southbound.
It was unclear if anyone was hit by the gunfire or what led to the shooting, according to Derek Bell, who was overhead in Sky 9.
The L.A. County Sheriff's Department dispatched one of their helicopters to patrol overhead, according to Bell.
According to authorities, none of the officers were injured.
