A robbery suspect was shot and wounded by police early Thursday, a Los Angeles Police duty officer said.

An active investigation was under way Thursday in the Sawtelle area near West Los Angeles after four suspects robbed a gas station's convenience store, according to authorities.
The robbery happened just before 2 a.m. at a Chevron gas station on West Olympic Boulevard and South Bundy Drive, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police shot and wounded one of the robbery suspects' who had been armed, according to Los Angeles police Officer, Rosario Herrera, of the Media Relations Office. He was taken into custody.
Authorities searching the area for other suspects arrested a 17-year-old boy believed to be an accomplice, Herrara said.
Two other suspects remain at large.
No names have been released.
