NFL Player Denies Plot To Beat Up Pregnant Woman

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― The agent of Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dennis Northcutt has denied his client arranged for a pregnant woman to be beaten up at a Hollywood restaurant.

Agent Jerome Stanley says Thursday the lawsuit amounts to a shakedown by Sharri Henry, who claims to be four months pregnant with Northcutt's baby.

In the suit filed Wednesday, Henry accuses Northcutt, a nine-year NFL veteran, of trying to harm her unborn child and permanently disfigure her face by sending his cousin to the restaurant May 17 to assault her.

Stanley says Northcutt had a relationship with Henry but claims she hatched the plot to get money after he dumped her.

Police have declined to say if a report was filed on the alleged assault.
