Motorcyclist Killed In Athens Village

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― A man was killed early Thursday when his motorcycle collided with a big rig in the unincorporated Athens Village are of Los Angeles County, authorities said.

The accident on South Broadway just north of West 135th Street was reported at 12:29 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol Officer Alex Gonzalez.

The victim -- a man in his 40s -- was riding a Harley-Davidson when he struck the driver's side of a big rig and suffered fatal injuries, a CHP
sergeant reported. The victim's identity was not immediately released.
