Suspect Arrested In Violent Mobile Home Robbery
CALIMESA
A man who allegedly broke into a Calimesa woman's mobile home and knocked her down to get her purse was being held without bail Friday.
Bryan Foley, 41, of Yucaipa, was arrested Thursday and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of robbery and burglary, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Foley allegedly forced his way into a trailer in the Rancho Calimesa Mobile Home Park, located at 10320 Calimesa Blvd., just before 5 p.m., said sheriff's Sgt. Timothy Salas.
The suspect was in the middle of ransacking the mobile home when the resident walked in on him, the sergeant said. During the ensuing confrontation, Foley "pushed (the woman) to the floor and then forced her purse away from her," he said.
The suspect then allegedly broke into an adjacent trailer, but was frightened away by a male resident.
Deputies canvassed the area, with the help of a sheriff's helicopter crew, and spotted Foley in a field, where he was arrested after a brief foot chase, Salas said.
