Man Struck, Killed By Van Nuys Metrolink Train

Metrolink spokeswoman Denise Tyrell said train No. 106, which originated in Ventura at 6:44 a.m. and was due to arrive at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles at 8:38 a.m., struck the person at 8 a.m. and stopped between the Van Nuys and Burbank stations.

A man was struck and killed by a Metrolink train in Van Nuys on Wednesday, according to reports from authorities.
The pedestrian died at the scene of the injury, which occurred about 8 a.m. near Raymer Street and Bellaire Avenue, said Ron Myers of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Metrolink spokeswoman Denise Tyrell said train No. 106, which originated in Ventura at 6:44 a.m. and was due to arrive at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles at 8:38 a.m., struck the person at 8 a.m. and stopped between the Van Nuys and Burbank stations. She described him as a trespasser.
Both tracks were shut down for an investigation, Tyrell said.
