Authorities Probe Deadly Stabbing In El Monte

EL MONTE, Calif. (CBS) ― Police and sheriff's detectives Sunday were investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in El Monte.

The incident, which happened in the 11000 block of Bonwood Road near Mountain View and Peck roads, was reported at around 3 a.m., sheriff's Deputy Keith Ho said.

Sheriff's homicide detectives were called out at 4:45 a.m. to help in the investigation of the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death.

The victim, whose name was withheld pending notification of his family, died at the scene, Ho said.
