Deputies Tuesday chased a suspected stolen vehicle into Long Beach, where it crashed and the four occupants were taken into custody, police said.
The chase ended about 8:40 a.m. near 65th Street and Myrtle Avenue, said Long Beach police Officer Jackie Bezart.
Television footage showed the vehicle being chased ended up against what looked like a hydrant from which water was shooting into the air.
The chase began when deputies learned that the vehicle had been stolen and the driver did not pull over, said Lt. Kevin Hebert of the Century Sheriff's Station.
Hebert said he was not sure where the chase began, but it was in the Century Station area.
Driver Zevedo Beltran, 35, of Compton, was charged with taking a vehicle without the owner's consent, child endangerment, and felony evading, Hebert said.
Two other adults and a juvenile were also in the vehicle, but were not facing major charges, Hebert said.
