Lomita officials Saturday have lifted a boil water order that was caused by a main break.
Tests of the water in city pipes showed no contamination and the precautionary order was lifted Saturday afternoon, said Jim Shely, the city's water utility field operations supervisor.
Persons drinking water in the portion of Lomita south of Pacific Coast Highway had been told to boil their water before cooking with it or drinking it through Monday, but Shely says the tests show that order is no longer
necessary.
A contractor had damaged a water line Thursday at 262nd Street and Eshelman Avenue, causing the precautionary measure.
