Temecula Teacher Accused Of Touching Students
TEMECULA, Calif. (CBS) ―
A 43-year-old Temecula high school science teacher facing misdemeanor charges of inappropriately touching and making comments to some of his female students was put on administrative leave, according to school officials.
Paul Andrew Rollins, who teaches at Temecula Valley High School, is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 13 on 11 counts of annoying a child under 18.
An investigation was launched in June at the request of school officials, according to Temecula police Sgt. Bill DeLuna, who said 11 alleged victims came forward with an "assortment" of allegations.
Investigators determined that the alleged touching was outside the students' clothing, making it a misdemeanor rather than felony case.
"I can tell you that he's been on administrative leave since June 12," said Temecula schools information officer Melanie Norton.
She would not comment further.
The alleged acts occurred during the past school year, DeLuna said.
