HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (AP) ― Hollywood residents believe they've found a humane way to reduce the out-of-control neighborhood pigeon population, and the mess that comes with it.

Over the next few months a birth control product called OvoControl P, which interferes with egg development, will be placed in bird food in new rooftop feeders.

Community leaders planned to announce pilot program at a news conference Monday. It's believed to be the first program of its kind in the nation.
