Director David Lynch Files For Divorce

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― Director David Lynch has filed for divorce from the mother of his 14-year-old son after one month of marriage.

Lynch cited irreconcilable differences with film editor and producer Mary Sweeney as the reason for the split in court papers filed Monday with Los Angeles County Superior Court.

The papers indicated Lynch and Sweeney have a marital settlement agreement. The 60-year-old director also has a grown son and daughter from two previous marriages.

Lynch and Sweeney have worked together for years on several films directed by Lynch, including "Blue Velvet," "Wild at Heart," "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me," and "Mulholland Drive."
