Civilians Net Las Vegas Man In Online Sting

WESTMINISTER, Calif. (CBS) ― A civilian group sting aimed at suspected Internet sexual predators in Westminister Wednesday netted a Las Vegas man, authorities said.

Richard Nuss, Jr., 43, drove six hours to Westminister to allegedly meet and have sex with a 13-year-old boy with whom he thought he was chatting with online for the past two weeks, police said.

Instead, Nuss had been chatting with a member of Perverted-Justice.com, a group of adult civilians who monitor regional chat rooms and pose as children to expose sexual predators, police said.

Nuss agreed to meet the fictitious boy in Westminister, but was instead arrested by Westminister Police detectives without incident.
