Kelsey Grammer Recovering From Heart Attack

LOS ANGELES Emmy-winning actor Kelsey Grammer was recuperating in a Hawaiian hospital on Monday after suffering a mild heart attack over the weekend, according to his Los Angeles-based publicist.

The 53-year-old star of "Frasier" was resting comfortably and was expected to be released from the hospital early this week, according to spokesman Stan Rosenfield.

Rosenfield said Grammer began experiencing symptoms Saturday morning while paddle-boarding with his wife, Camille, at their home in Hawaii.

"Grammer was immediately taken to an area hospital, where it was determined that he had a mild heart attack," Rosenfield said.

Grammer won four Emmys and two Golden Globes for his portrayal of Dr. Frasier Crane on the long-running NBC series. He won another Emmy in 2006 for his voice role as the murderous Sideshow Bob on the animated Fox comedy "The Simpsons."

He most recently appeared along with Patricia Heaton in the just- canceled Fox sitcom "Back to You." He will next be seen in the Kevin Costner comedy "Swing Vote," which is scheduled to hit theaters in August.
