Police Search For Sexual Predator In Thousand Oaks

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (CBS) ― Authorities are searching for a suspect who allegedly tried to sexually assault a female jogger earlier this month.

On Nov. 6 a female jogger was in the area of Northwood Place and Mabrey Court in Thousand Oaks at about 8:25 p.m. when a man from behind her came and pushed her to the ground according to a Thousand Oaks Police news release.

The female victim believed she was going to be sexually assaulted was able to get away from the suspect by running away.

Authorities believe the suspect may be the same man who has been exposing himself to female joggers and walkers in the same general area during daytime hours in the past two years.

In those reported incidents, the suspect hid behind bushes or trees before exposing himself. The last reported incident was on July 24, 2008.

That suspect is described as a man between the ages of 30-35, about 6 feet tall, and weighing about 180 pounds.

He has short dark hair and was last seen wearing dark clothing with hoodie and sunglasses.

Anyone with information about the incident or suspect call Detective Javier Chavez (805) 494-8229.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that will lead to an arrest in the case.
