One person died and two others were injured when a hot air balloon crashed near Mecca Friday, authorities said.
The crash was reported about 8:15 a.m near Harrison Street and 71st Avenue, according to Patrick Chandler with Riverside County fire.
"The balloon apparently collided into some power lines," Chandler said.
The two people who were injured were taken to a hospital -- one with moderate and one with minor injuries, Chandler said.
