A man was killed when a minivan hit his car so hard that it split in two in an apparent hit-and-run crash in Lynwood early Sunday.
Friends indentified the victim as Jose Juan Valenzuela Ramos, 37.
The deadly crash, which occurred at about 1 a.m., happened at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue, Sgt. William Bevans of the sheriff's Century Station said.
A maroon-colored minivan was speeding south on Atlantic when it crashed into the man's Honda Accord, hitting it hard enough that it split in two and sending part of the car onto a sidewalk, a local news station reported.
Bevans said no arrests had been made, but officials had "two people of interest" in the crash.
Officials said the investigation was ongoing.
