Authorities believe a Good Samaritan has drowned in Big Bear Lake after he jumped in to help a swimmer in trouble.
San Bernardino County sheriff's divers were searching for the 33-year-old man from Alhambra who apparently drowned in the lake Friday.
The search was called off Saturday afternoon because the lake was too crowded with boaters.
The search was scheduled to resume Sunday.
Authorities said a group of people rented a boat and were about 300 yards off the shore, when a man jumped into the lake to cool off.
When that man began struggling in the choppy waters, the Good Samaritan jumped in to help him and he also began struggling. A third man jumped in, but only he and the first man made it back to the boat.
