Police Seek Parents Of Girl Found In Moreno Valley

MORENO VALLEY (CBS) ― Authorities are trying to find the parents of a 4-year-old girl found walking the streets in the Edgemont area of Moreno Valley, a sheriff's sergeant said.

A resident found the girl some time before 11 p.m. in the 22700 block of Pahute Drive, according to sheriff's Sgt. Don Teagarden.

The girl told deputies her name, which sheriff's officials took down as "Janessa Rosco." But they noted the exact spelling is unknown.

But she could not provide her address, phone number, or her parents' names, Teagarden said. Deputies drove her around the neighborhood hoping she could identify her home, but she could not.

No missing children reports had been made recently in local or surrounding areas, Teagarden said.

The girl has been placed with county Child Protective Services until her family can be found.

She is Hispanic, about 3 feet tall, 40 pounds, with brown hair that falls to her lower back and brown eyes. She was wearing a light blue top and beige pants when she was found.

Teagarden encouraged anyone with information to call (951) 247-8700.
