A 3-year-old girl who was struck by a sport utility vehicle outside a Diamond Bar school has died.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says Michelle Kwon died on Thanksgiving.
The girl, her 5-year-old sister Christine and her father, 43-year-old Soonil Kwon, were on the way to Maple Hill Elementary School Wednesday morning when an SUV went out of control, went over a curb in front of the school and hit them.
The girl's father and sister were hospitalized with injuries but they are expected to survive.
Sheriff's officials say the driver was parking the Nissan Pathfinder to drop off some children when he lost control of the car. Investigators concluded it was an accident and the driver was not cited.
