Phew! Clooney Still On The Market...Sort Of

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― Take heart, ladies! George Clooney is still on the market. Kind of.

In a short, five-word statement released Monday, the star of "Michael Clayton" tersely denied media tabloid reports that he was engaged to girlfriend Sarah Larson.

"These reports are not true," Clooney said.

The 46-year-old Clooney, who stars in the upcoming film "Leatherheads," has been dating the 28-year-old Larson for more than a year.

According to US Weekly, rumors of the couple's engagement apparently began with a report on a British Web site, which cited an overheard conversation involving a restaurant worker in Laglio, Italy, where Clooney owns a villa.
