Dense Fog Advisory In Effect For LA Coast
LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―
A fog advisory is in effect for the Los Angeles County coast, including downtown, until 9 a.m. Monday, making travel more hazardous, according to the National Weather Service.
The fog is expected to affect travelers on and near major freeways, including interstates 10, 105, 710, 605 and 405, as well as Pacific Coast
Highway and the 91 highway in the South Bay and Westside of Los Angeles.
Dense fog will also occur on the 101 and 5 freeways near downtown.
A dense fog advisory means visibility will frequently be reduced to a quarter mile or less.
Fog can also make road surfaces slick, so motorists were urged to slow down, use their headlights and keep extra distance between other vehicles.
Fog at the Los Angeles and San Diego airports Sunday morning caused the FAA to delay departures from other cities into both airports.
