The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for southwestern San Bernardino County after heavy rains from a thunderstorm hit the area.
The warning means flooding could be imminent or already happening.
Earlier Sunday, the weather service issued flash flood watches for much of southern and central California, including many wildfire-scarred areas that are ripe for mudslides.
The National Weather Service says a strong monsoonal surge is bringing large amounts of moisture to the mountains and deserts in Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Kern and Tulare counties.
Any flooding in recent burn areas could mean significant sliding of mud and debris.
