A fire at a home in Nuevo Wednesday caused several explosions and spread to about a half-acre of brush, a fire official said.

No injuries were reported in the fire that started at 12:10 p.m. near Juniper Flats Road and Stagecoach Road, according to Jody Hagemann of Cal Fire.

About 70 firefighters and three air tankers were assigned to the blaze.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
