A wildfire that torched about 75 acres of thick brush near Interstate 5 in the Angeles National Forest has been contained.
U.S. Forest Service spokesman Stanton Florea says firefighters surrounded the blaze about 45 miles northwest of Los Angeles at midnight Wednesday.
Florea says the fire should be out completely by Thursday afternoon.
He says one lane of Interstate 5 will remain closed through the night as two engines and two crews work on the fire.
They'll attempt to keep burning debris from rolling down the area's steep
terrain and crossing the fire lines.
The blaze started near a freeway turnout on I-5, and was fed by dry, dense brush and temperatures in the high 90s.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
