A fire broke out in a two-story apartment building in Sun Valley Sunday, but no one was injured, a fire official said.
The first 30 firefighters arrived on scene just after 11 a.m. on the 8600 block of Sunland Boulevard to find an attic of at least one of the apartments in flames and smoke pouring from the building, Los Angeles fire spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
Although 95 more firefighters were called in to assist, the first group was able to knock down the blaze within 19 minutes, Humphrey said.
No one was injured, according to Humphrey.
A damage estimate was not immediately available, but reports from the scene indicated that most of the damage had been concentrated to a single apartment.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
