Cops Hunt Hit-And-Run Driver Who Killed Dad Of 9
ANAHEIM (CBS) ―
Police are on the hunt Tuesday for the hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a father of nine in Anaheim on July 4th.
The victim, Alfredo Morales, 43, was struck about a block from his home around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police investigator Rick Alexander says Morales was near 2675 W. Cerritos Ave. when he was struck by a vehicle, which police believe was dark blue because of trace amounts of paint left at the scene.
A left-turn indicator bulb was also found at the scene, he said.
Morales was wearing dark clothing, but the street was lit by lights, Alexander said.
Morales has a 22-year-old daughter who lives in Stanton, but his wife and other eight children live in Mexico, Alexander said.
Police have little to go on, and are asking for the public's help in finding the driver. They have not been able to locate any witnesses, although someone heard the collision, Alexander said.
The suspect's vehicle was believed to have front-end damage on the left side, Alexander said.
Anyone with information about the collision was asked to call Alexander at (714) 765-1861.
