Man Shot To Death In El Sereno

A man was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in El Sereno, authorities said Friday.

The incident happened in the 4200 block of Portola Avenue near Henderson Street and was reported shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday, Sgt. Al Ramos of the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollenbeck Station said.

The victim, a man in his 30s, died at the scene, Ramos said.

His name has not been released pending notification of relatives.

Ramos said the shooting appeared to have been gang-related, but it was unclear whether the victim was a gang member.

A description of the gunmen and the suspect vehicle was not immediately

released.
