Reward Offered For Help Solving Double Murder
MONTEREY PARK, Calif.
A $25,000 reward was offered on Wednesday for information that helps solve the killings of two men gunned down at an East Los Angeles car dealership.
Arturo Saldana, 62, and Francisco Cereceres, 50, were shot and killed on the afternoon of March 31 at Jesse's Auto Sales in the 5100 block of East Olympic Boulevard, sheriff's deputies said.
The men were shot "execution style" in the garage of the business, detectives said.
The suspects stole two vehicles, one of which was recovered. The other, which is being sought, was a four-door 2000 Jeep Cherokee, license number 5CGJ466.
"My stepdad had been there over 30 years," said Ivon Perez of Arturo Saldana at a news conference at the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau. "Nothing had ever happened to him. He had friends everywhere.
"And for these people to just come in and murder them the way they did;
it's not right.
"It's been 51 days since you took our dad, and I can't believe you could be out there and live a normal life like you did nothing," Perez said, addressing her remarks to the killers.
"You destroyed two families ... you took everything from two families. If you're listening, turn yourself in. If you know something, you know these people, turn them in. We don't want another family to go through what we've gone through," Perez said.
The reward was offered by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for information leading to the conviction of the killer or killers.
