Freeway Reopens: 2 Burned In Fiery Crash

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― Two people are hospitalized with critical burn injuries after their rental truck overturned and caught fire, shutting down a major freeway interchange in downtown Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Ballton says a Ryder
truck was on its side and burning on southbound Interstate 5 at the connector to eastbound Interstate 10 when emergency crews arrived
at 6:10 p.m. Sunday.

Two persons were rescued from the burning truck and taken to USC Medical Center.

California Highway Patrol officer David Porter says the connector road was shut down for cleanup, but reopened at 12:17 a.m. Monday.
