The Pontiac burst into flames upon impact, killing its driver, who was burned beyond recognition, a sergeant said.

A man was killed Saturday when he slammed a Pontiac Grand Prix into the brick wall of a Toyota dealership showroom near the Los Angeles Convention Center, authorities said.
The solo crash at the corner of South Figueroa Street and Venice Boulevard was reported about 4 a.m., a Los Angeles police sergeant at the Central Traffic Division said.
The Pontiac burst into flames upon impact, killing its driver, who was burned beyond recognition, the sergeant said.
Police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, the sergeant said.
