Two men, one in a wheelchair and the other pushing him along the sidewalk, were shot and killed outisde a church on Sunday in Compton, a sheriff's deputy said.
The shooting occured around 1:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Alameda Street, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Aura Sierra.
The two victims, whose names were not released, were pronounced dead at the scene, Sierra said.
A gunman reportedly drove up on the victims in a car, opened fire while the men were walking in front of the church, and sped away, according to police.
The vehicle was later found abandoned in the 2000 block of 127th Street,
Sierra said.
Today's fatal shootings mark the 4th fatality in Compton by gunfire since Thursday.
It wasn't immediately clear if today's shooting was sparked by gang violence but friends and neighbors said neither man involved in the shooting outside the church was involved in gangs.
