1 Killed When Car Hits Crowd Outside Venice Church

The female driver of the vehicle told investigators she inadvertantly stepped on the gas pedal after her passenger began having a seizure. It was unclear whether the passenger was among those injured.

One person has been killed and three injured after a vehicle struck a crowd of people on a sidewalk near a Catholic church in Venice.
The LAPD says the incident occurred about 1:20 p.m. Sunday in front of St. Mark Catholic Church.
The female driver of the vehicle told investigators she inadvertantly stepped on the gas pedal after her passenger began having a seizure. It was unclear whether the passenger was among those injured.
Four people where transported to a hospital where one victim, a woman in her 30s, later died. Two people were listed in critical condition and one was in serious condition. The extent of their injuries wasn't immediately known.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
