Child Airlifted To Hospital After Near-Drowning

A 7-year-old boy, who nearly drowned Saturday in a swimming pool in the Porter Ranch area, was airlifted to a hospital.

A 7-year-old boy, who nearly drowned Saturday in a swimming pool in the Porter Ranch area, was airlifted to a hospital, a fire department spokeswoman said.
The near drowning was reported at 6:11 p.m. at 10476 N. Vanalden Ave., d'Lisa Davies of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
According to Davies, his parents began performing CPR before paramedics arrived.
Paramedics continued the CPR and revived the child, Davies said.
He was conscious and breathing when he was airlifted by helicopter from Noble Junior High School in Northridge to Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, Davies said.
Witnesses said he was submerged for about 10 seconds, Davies said.
