A car crashed through a freeway fence just north of downtown and landed in the bed of the Los Angeles River Sunday, and the suspected driver was found nearby -- possibly drunk.
A sedan apparently veered off the northbound Pasadena (110) Freeway, went through a fence and landed in the riverbed about 2:25 a.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos.
No one was found in the vehicle, but police and firefighters soon found two men who were believed to have been in the car, the Los Angeles police watch commander at the Northeast Station said.
The driver was believed to have been drunk, she said.
Villalobos was unable to immediately confirm any arrests.
