Los Angeles County Sheriff's homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a burned car on a remote stretch of road near Angeles National Forest.
Sheriff's Deputy Derrick Thompson says the unidentified man was found early Saturday morning on a back road east of the Interstate 5 about four miles north of Castaic in rural northern Los Angeles County.
The body was burned beyond recognition and dental records will likely be needed to identify the man, coroner's investigator Jerry McKibben said.
An autopsy is pending.
Anyone with more information about the man was asked to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
