Crews Knock Down Mount Olympus Area Brush Fire

MOUNT OLYMPUS, Calif. (CBS) ― Fire crews have knocked down a brush fire that broke out in a hilly canyon area of Los Angeles Sunday.

The blaze, which was located at 2100 Laurel Canyon Road in Mount Olympus, started around 7:08 p.m., according to Brian Humphrey of Los Angeles Fire Department.

Ground and air crews were sent to Laurel Canyon Road in the hills above Hollywood.

The fire, which started as 1-acre, burned in a residential hillside, but did not prompt any formal evacuations, according to Humphrey.

Firefighters protected structures on and near Utica Drive and closed Laurel Canyon between Lookout Mountain and Hollywood Boulevard, Humphrey said.

No injuries were reported and no structures were burned.
